The Inheritance of Loss.....OUCH!

Ok here is a book I would review without ever finishing it. Infact I could not go beyond 2 chapters....

Simply stating...It is totally horrible...whatever happened to good old story telling...I really wonder why people would write a whole lot of big big words and never really mean anything...It's a total loss of money and time and everything. The moment I read the first two lines i was like....Excuse ME!!!! Seriously pal. I dont care if critics love it or decided to give the woman a booker's price...All I want to say is if people want to understand why books sell...try reading Harry Potter....thats what I call Story telling......

People I wish I could even give it a 1 out of 10....I just cant.

Me first!
What are you talking about? The book which was awarded the Booker Prize this year is horrible?? I hadn't expected anyone to say this. If I read the book some day, I'll understand whether it's good or bad.
And, I agree with you that everyone should read Harry Potter to understand the meaning of story-telling.It is simply magical.

Here let me explain....

All day, the colors had been tose of duck, mist moving like a water creature across the great flanks of mountains possessed of ocean shadows and depths......

I read the sentence and I was out of breath....for one thing I am not a critic and I certainly lack the qualification to comment on books that win the booker's at any cost...but the thing is honey...your words tell you the character of the entire book...a first line like that I was like....whoa!!!! What I call a beauty is a line like...

It's a truth universally acknowledged that a man in possession of great fortune must be in want of a wife!

See the difference....the first first lines make you frown and the second first lines make you smile....

I hated it but would finish it...in another century I guess but dont take my word for it....read it and we shall discuss...

i am reading it and its not as bad as u r making it out........there are books which are universal in story telling and there are books which are for people who love to read for love of literature......i personally dont like big heavy words in book or story telling but if the writer is able to bring out them in right way, i am not averse to it also......let me finish it and maybe we will discuss it...i found it utterly boring in first few pagestoo but its turning out much better now i am through with 30% of it....

I haven't read the book, but if this is the first line, then I want to read it for sure. It's beautiful and very picturesque. Thanks for the advertisement. :)
